About Protect North SFV

Protect North San Fernando Valley was born out of a simple truth: we refuse to accept toxic waste in our backyard. When news broke that wildfire debris from the Palisades and Eaton fires would be dumped in our local landfills, our community came together—neighbors, families, and advocates—determined to stop it. Partnering with Protect Calabasas, we stood up against the reckless disposal of hazardous fire debris in our landfills.

But this fight is bigger than just one issue. Sunshine Canyon has been polluting our air, harming our health, and disregarding our community for decades. While we continue working to prevent more fire debris from being dumped here, we are also demanding real accountability and stricter regulations on this landfill as a whole.

We are an organized group of residents from Granada Hills, Sylmar, and Porter Ranch who are tired of wondering what landfill emissions are doing to our families. We are standing together for our health, our air, and our future.

A Community Worth Fighting For

The North San Fernando Valley is more than just a place to live—it’s a vibrant, diverse, and tight-knit community where people genuinely care about one another. From the scenic hiking trails of O’Melveny Park to the historic homes of Granada Hills, the family-friendly neighborhoods of Porter Ranch, and the rich cultural heritage of Sylmar, our corner of LA is something truly special.

We are home to breathtaking open spaces, tree-lined streets, and some of the best parks in the city. We cherish our small businesses, local schools, and the strong sense of unity that makes this community feel like home. But what truly sets us apart is our people—passionate, engaged, and willing to stand up for what’s right.

Time and again, we have come together to protect what we love. From organizing protests to demanding action from officials, we’ve proven that when our community is threatened, we don’t back down. This is a movement driven by neighbors, families, and individuals who refuse to accept toxic pollution in the place we call home.

North SFV is worth fighting for—and we need you. Everyone is welcome in this movement, because this is a fight for all of us. Join us and help protect the community we love.
